Playing with patriarchy featuring Neha Premanand
I’ve been looking at patriarchy.
And I’ve been taking notes.
Been looking at the pictures of my forefathers
And copying all their poses
The imperious quiver of their nose
Sits just as well on mine.
The lofty chin and the unapologetic knee
Fits alright on my anatomy.
I’ve been looking at patriarchy
And I see that it’s not rocket science
The rules are pretty simple
All it takes is is to put oneself on top
And decide to stay there.
Act like you know better
Master a swagger
And there you have it
An alpha. A head of society. A voice to be heard. A Karnavarkutty.
A woman like me.
